Brooklyn Army Terminal Upgrades – Brooklyn, NY (2019)

Posted in Building Services

GBI made extensive upgrades to the Brooklyn Army Terminal’s existing facilities, including drainage, concrete flatwork, color-coded line striping, and automated parking systems. The main building received new accent lighting that is capable of being programed to any color, giving the NYC EDC the ability to match the familiar schemed lighting on other iconic New York City buildings and structures. Original cobblestone pavers, uncovered during construction, were reclaimed in crosswalks and tree rings to create an urban-schemed pedestrian area, complete with custom furniture, structural steel decks, and plantings. To finish off the site, GBI erected a fully-custom plaza shelter for use as the Sunset Park District stop for the New York City Ferry.
