MacArthur Airport – Islip, NY (2010)
Posted in Civil ServicesGBI was contracted by New York State Office of General Services to demolish the existing area and install six new UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter Pads for the Army at Long Island’s MacArthur Airport. To begin, the existing concrete pads and surrounding asphalt were removed. The underlying earth was then excavated to increase the depth of concrete. The new concrete pads were poured with the helicopter tie down anchors and static grounding rods set inside. To finish, the areas in between and around the pads were paved with asphalt.
