Town of Oyster Bay South Channels Dredge – 2025

Posted in Building Services

Galvin Bros., Inc. was contracted by the Town of Oyster Bay for the South Channels Dredging Project to enhance navigation and safety for local boaters in the Great South Bay. The project involved dredging four residential channels, with over 18,000 cubic yards of material proposed for removal, to restore proper depth and improve waterway access for the surrounding community.

This challenging marine operation required precise coordination and skilled navigation through shallow bay waters, as all dredged material had to be carefully transported from the channels to the TOBAY Beach Marina Facility for offloading. Galvin Bros., Inc. managed the complex logistics of material handling and disposal in full compliance with all environmental regulations, ensuring the protection of sensitive marine habitats throughout the process.

The completed project improved navigation, extended the useful life of the channels, and reinforced the Town’s commitment to maintaining its valuable waterfront infrastructure.
