Four Sparrow Marsh Tidal Wetland Remediation – 2024

Galvin Bros., Inc. was contracted by NYC DDC to remediate approximately 3 acres of tidal wetland.  The project included clearing out of invasive plant species and the removal of 10,000 tons of contaminated and hazardous soil. Clean Sand and Loamy Soil was imported from local suppliers and fine graded using GPS guided equipment. The tidal, transition and upland areas where then vegetated using salvaged native marsh hummoks and additional new native plants and seed.
