RNYCP Green Infrastructure
Posted in Civil ServicesAs part of the ongoing NYC DEP Green Infrastructure Program, Galvin Bros., Inc. was contracted by Arcadis in conjunction with DEP at various locations with the land owner and to determine where flooding typically occurred on the property and installed a solution, using subsurface storage and porous pavement, that mitigates surface flooding and runoff in those areas without impacting existing operations or disrupting the workflow on the site. The subsurface storage captures stormwater and allows it to infiltrate naturally into the subgrade instead of adding to the overwhelmed combined city sewer. GBI installed subsurface stormwater runoff systems at T. Mina Supply, Inc. in Queens, Pratt Institute in Brookyln, Flushing Hospital in Queens, and (3) locations at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx.
